I regularly cover guns, survival tactics, and self-defense weapons both in domestic and international. I covered the Las Vegas massacre, the historic hurricanes Harvey and Irma and the London Bridge attack. I have been on the front lines of the wars and uprisings in the Middle East. I reported on the unfolding refugee and migrant crisis, as well as the wave of terror attacks across Europe. As the Egyptian Revolution exploded, I was one of the first American correspondents in Cairo. I made several trips into Syria to report on the war from both the rebel and regime sides. In 2012 and 2014, I was on the ground in Gaza during the wars with Israel and traveled across Ukraine as Russian military moved in.
I was also in Moscow to report high-profile stories from the region, including Vladimir Putin’s landslide reelection as president and the protest punk group Pussy Riot’s controversial arrest and detainment.
Most recently, I played a crucial role in the coverage of the crisis in Ukraine from the Maidan protests in Kiev to the fight between pro-Russian rebels and government forces in Donetsk. I was also on the ground at the crash site of the Flight MH17, reporting on the incident and its aftermath. My reporting on this story and the shooting of an anti-government protester in Independence Square, were recognized at the 2014 AIB awards.
As a freelance reporter, I worked on several stories, including the Finnish classroom shootings, the McCartney-Mills divorce hearings, the search for Madeleine McCann, the attempted London terror attacks, and the Princess Diana inquest. I also covered the Asian Tsunami from Sri Lanka.
I started my career as a researcher where I helped with logistical planning for crews shooting travel stories across the world. I worked as a producer and later a reporter.
I have a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Harvard University, where I also played on the varsity football team. If you need to reach me, click here.
